Athletics

The Athletic Department at Jarvis Christian College dedicates itself to serving all student-athletes. Athletic competitions at JCC adhere to the fundamental principles of fair play which can be of value to individuals, students, members of the immediate collegiate community, and to the larger institution's constituency. Athletics will not foster the concept of winning at any cost. The Athletics Department commits to ensuring good coaching, proper equipment, medical care, academics, support and counseling.

Jarvis Christian College is a Division I member of the National Intercollegiate Athletic Association (NAIA), the oldest African-American athletic conference in the United States. The NAIA is comprised of ten member institutions: Bowie State University, Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, Johnson C. Smith University, Livingstone College, Saint Augustine's College, Saint Paul's College, Shaw University, Virginia State University and Virginia Union University. Elizabeth City State sponsors fifteen intercollegiate sports. The men's sports include: baseball and basketball. The women's sports include: volleyball and basketball. We are also a member of the Red River Athletic Conference.
