Head Coach McKinnon

Coach Keith McKinnon’s team motto is “God, Family, Academics and Basketball”, in that order.  

As a player at Paul Quinn College, he participated in 2 NAIA Tournaments, 3 Conference Championships and received a National Small College Championship in 1990.  After graduation, he became an Assistant Coach at Paul Quinn College under James “Zip” Summers for four years. During this time, he won the National Small College Championship in 1995.   His appointment as Head Coach at Paul Quinn College occurred in 1997; he served as head coach until 2009.  Coach McKinnon served as the Co-Head Coach of the Bronze Medal Global Games Basketball Team in 2001.   

Coach of the Bronze Medal Global Games Basketball Team in 2001.    In 2009, he received the Man of the Year Award from the Moorland Branch YMCA for outstanding community service.  He is a member of St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas.  Coach McKinnon is a graduate of Paul Quinn College in Dallas, Texas.  He is married to Charlotte Ratcliff-McKinnon and the father of Isaiah Cornelius 7 years old and Daniel Christopher 5 years old.

Coach McKinnon’s ultimate goal is to transform young men through the sport of basketball to become productive citizens in our every changing society.  He strives to make student-athletes servant-leaders of today and tomorrow.
