Center for Inclusion Studies
Honors Program
|

The Center for Inclusion Studies is dedicated to educating about the importance of inclusion and equity. Courses and workshops will engage in ways that will create opportunities for individuals to become more understanding, thoughtful, expressive, and intentional about the issues of inclusion and equity. Through personal histories, traditions, and critical consciousness we empower individuals toward a more personal sense of self-worth. By defining who we are, we learn we are a part of a society that is diverse and inclusive. The courses and workshops offered focus on social, political, and economic issues impacting inclusion and equity. Comparative analysis regarding the impact empower learners to better understand the world in which they live and their role in making it a better place for everyone. Additional emphasis is placed on actions we can take that will possibly lead to a more inclusively diverse world.
The academic component of the Center is the Minor in Inclusion Studies, a series of honors-level courses that can be linked to any of the institution’s major fields of study. All of the courses delivered through the Center for Inclusion Studies will meet the requirements for the inclusion studies designation. The Honors Program at Jarvis Christian College is dedicated to educating learners about the importance of inclusion, diversity, and equity. Focusing mostly on social, political, and economic issues that impact inclusion, diversity, and equity, learners will see that they are a part of a more inclusively diverse society.
