Jarvis Christian Univesity will Remain Closed Tuesday, January 27, 2026
Hawkins, Texas — In anticipation of continued winter weather conditions impacting the East Texas region, Jarvis Christian University (JCU) will be closed on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. This precautionary closure is being implemented out of an abundance of caution to prioritize the safety and well-being of the University’s students, faculty, and staff.
Although the physical campus will be closed, virtual instruction will continue as scheduled. Students enrolled in face-to-face courses should consult Canvas for course-specific updates and instructions from their instructors. Faculty members will communicate any necessary adjustments directly to their students.
The University remains committed to supporting students during this closure. Student Affairs will continue to operate remotely, and Residential Life staff will remain available on campus to assist residential students who may require support or services during this time.
Spring 2026 registration will remain open and accessible virtually, and students are encouraged to continue completing registration-related tasks online. University offices will be available remotely to provide assistance and answer questions.
