Jarvis Christian University to Host Annual Campus Revival
Jarvis Christian University will host its annual Campus Revival beginning Monday, February 10, through Wednesday, February 12, in Smith-Howard Chapel at 7:00 p.m. nightly. The three-night gathering invites students, faculty, staff, and members of the surrounding community to come together for worship, reflection, and spiritual renewal.
The annual revival remains one of the university’s most meaningful spiritual traditions, reinforcing Jarvis’s identity as a faith-centered institution committed to nurturing the whole student—mind, body, and spirit. Each evening will feature dynamic preaching, music, and opportunities for fellowship, creating space for the campus community to pause from daily routines and focus on spiritual growth.
This year’s revival will welcome three guest ministers from across East Texas who will bring messages designed to encourage, challenge, and inspire attendees.
The revival will open on Monday, February 10, with Dr. S. L. Curry of New Zion Baptist Church in Winona, Texas, who will deliver the first evening message. On Tuesday, February 11, the university will welcome Rev. Ralph Caraway, Jr. of Greater St. Mary Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas, followed by the concluding message on Wednesday, February 12 from Rev. Rodney Curry of College Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas.
Each evening will also include recognition of student organizations, athletic teams, and campus groups whose leadership and service contribute to the vitality of the Jarvis community. These recognitions highlight the connection between faith, leadership, and campus engagement, reminding students that spiritual growth is lived out both inside and outside the chapel.
University leaders note that the Campus Revival provides a unique opportunity for students to hear from voices beyond the campus while deepening their own faith journey. The services are designed to be welcoming to all, whether participants are longtime members of the Jarvis faith community or attending a revival service for the first time.
The revival also serves as a time for reflection on the university’s Christian heritage and mission. Through worship, preaching, and shared fellowship, the event encourages the campus community to renew its commitment to service, integrity, and spiritual purpose.
All members of the Jarvis community and the public are invited to attend. The university encourages students to bring friends and organizations to participate in what promises to be an uplifting and spirit-filled three nights of worship.
As Jarvis Christian University prepares for this year’s revival, the gathering stands as a reminder that faith remains central to the life of the institution and continues to guide its work in educating students for lives of leadership and service.
