Jarvis Christian University Prepares to Welcome New and Returning Students During Welcome Week 2026
HAWKINS, Texas — Jarvis Christian University is preparing to officially welcome students back to campus with Welcome Week 2026, a weeklong celebration designed to help students build meaningful relationships, become engaged in campus life, and begin the academic year with confidence and purpose.
Scheduled for August 3–7, 2026, this year’s Welcome Week carries the theme “Level Up & Unleash Your Potential: Welcome to Jarvis!” The week reflects the University’s commitment to creating an environment where every student is empowered to grow intellectually, spiritually, socially, and professionally.
Sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs, Welcome Week serves as the gateway to the Jarvis experience. Throughout the week, new and returning students will participate in activities that introduce them to campus resources, connect them with faculty and staff, foster friendships, and prepare them for success inside and outside the classroom.
“Welcome Week is more than a series of events—it’s the beginning of a transformational journey,” said Dr. Kishia James, Vice President for Student Affairs. “Our goal is to ensure every student feels welcomed, supported, and prepared to thrive as members of the Jarvis family.”
The week’s activities will provide students with opportunities to learn about campus services, meet student leaders, connect with classmates, and become involved in organizations and traditions that define life at Jarvis Christian University. Whether students are moving into the residence halls for the first time or returning for another year, Welcome Week is designed to cultivate a sense of belonging from day one.
The 2026 theme, “Level Up & Unleash Your Potential,” reflects the University’s belief that every student possesses unique gifts and limitless potential. Through intentional programming and community engagement, students will be encouraged to embrace new challenges, pursue academic excellence, and develop the leadership skills that will prepare them for lives of purpose and service.
Throughout the week, students will also have opportunities to engage with faculty, administrators, coaches, and campus departments that are dedicated to supporting their success. From academic support services and student organizations to wellness initiatives and campus traditions, Welcome Week showcases the many ways Jarvis invests in the holistic development of every Bulldog.
The celebration comes as Jarvis Christian University continues to build momentum through expanded academic opportunities, growing student engagement initiatives, and a renewed focus on preparing graduates to lead in their professions and communities. Welcome Week represents one of the University’s signature traditions, setting the tone for a year centered on achievement, community, and personal growth.
As students arrive on campus, the University encourages the entire Bulldog family—including alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends—to join in welcoming the newest members of the Jarvis community.
With the start of the fall semester just around the corner, excitement is building across campus as the University prepares to begin another year of educating students in the head, heart, and hand.
Welcome Week 2026 promises to be an unforgettable beginning—one filled with new beginnings, lifelong connections, and the opportunity for every Bulldog to level up and unleash their full potential.
Welcome to Jarvis. Welcome Home. 💙💛
