Jarvis Christian University Choir to Share the Gift of Music at Northway Christian Church in Dallas
HAWKINS, Texas — The Jarvis Christian University Choir will carry the spirit and sound of JCU to Dallas as the ensemble shares its musical ministry at Northway Christian Church.
The appearance provides another opportunity for Jarvis Christian University students to represent the institution beyond the Hawkins campus while sharing their talents with communities throughout Texas. Through sacred music, spirituals, gospel selections and other choral traditions, the JCU Choir continues a longstanding tradition of using music to connect the University with churches, alumni, prospective students and friends.
The visit to Northway Christian Church is especially meaningful because of the historic relationship between Jarvis Christian University and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Founded in 1912, Jarvis has maintained deep connections to the denomination throughout its history. Engagement with Disciples congregations provides opportunities to celebrate that shared heritage while introducing new generations to the University’s mission.
