Jarvis Christian University Prepares to Welcome Returning Students for Upperclassmen Move-In Day
HAWKINS, Texas — Jarvis Christian University is preparing to welcome returning Bulldogs back to campus as Upperclassmen Move-In Day takes place on Saturday, August 8, marking the official return of sophomores, juniors, and seniors for the start of the Fall 2026 semester.
After a summer of internships, employment, research, service, and time with family, returning students will once again call Jarvis home as they move into residence halls and prepare for another year of academic excellence, leadership development, and campus engagement.
Upperclassmen Move-In Day is an important milestone in the University’s annual return to campus, signaling the beginning of another exciting academic year. Throughout the day, students will check into their residence halls, reconnect with classmates, and settle into campus life before the first day of classes.
Returning students play a vital role in shaping the Jarvis experience. As peer mentors, student organization leaders, athletes, scholars, and resident assistants, upperclassmen help create a welcoming environment for the University’s newest students while modeling the values of leadership, scholarship, service, and faith.
“Upperclassmen Move-In Day is always an exciting time because it brings the heartbeat of our campus back together,” said Dominique Grate, Interim Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Development. “Our returning students are leaders who have already helped shape the culture of Jarvis Christian University. We look forward to welcoming them home as they continue pursuing their academic goals and investing in the success of our newest Bulldogs.”
Students are encouraged to arrive during their designated move-in times and complete all required check-in procedures before moving into their residence halls. University staff from across campus will be available throughout the day to assist students and ensure a smooth transition back to campus.
The return of upperclassmen also marks the beginning of a busy fall semester filled with academic opportunities, student leadership programs, athletic competitions, campus traditions, service projects, and community engagement. Returning students will have the opportunity to build upon the accomplishments of previous years while helping foster an inclusive and supportive campus environment for the incoming class.
“Every year our returning students bring tremendous energy and enthusiasm back to campus,” said William Hampton, Executive Director of Alumni Affairs. “Many of our alumni remember the excitement of returning to Jarvis each fall, and we know this year’s upperclassmen will continue the proud traditions that make this University such a special place. We wish each student a safe journey back to campus and a successful academic year.”
As the University prepares for another semester of learning and growth, faculty and staff eagerly anticipate welcoming students back to the classrooms, residence halls, athletic facilities, and gathering spaces that make Jarvis Christian University feel like home.
