Three Jarvis Christian University students have been awarded $1,500 scholarships each from Wells Fargo at the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) national conference in Jacksonville, Florida, this past weekend.

Sophomore kinesiology major Cedric Abney, junior biology major Brianna A, and sophomore music major Joshua Oloriegbe each competed and were selected for the awards.  Students posted photos of themselves on their own social media channels with the  hashtag #empowerme with an explanation on why they needed the $1,500 scholarships.

These three students were among 12 students from Jarvis who attended the conference as delegates to network with other students from 36 HBCUs. They also met with corporate executives to discuss internships, mentorships to contribute to their academic and professional futures.
