Jarvis Christian University senior Vladimir Avramov is a shining example of academic excellence, leadership, and professional promise. As a business accounting major, Vladimir has distinguished himself both inside and outside the classroom. Most recently, he was awarded a prestigious $3,000 scholarship from the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TXSCPA)—a recognition of his strong academic performance, commitment to the accounting profession, and leadership in student engagement.
Originally from Serbia, Vladimir has embraced the opportunities at Jarvis Christian University with focus and determination. He currently serves as president of the university’s chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), where he has worked alongside his peers to build a culture of professional development, mentorship, and career readiness. Under his leadership, the chapter has hosted resume workshops, guest speaker events, and networking sessions to connect students with industry professionals and alumni.
“The NABA chapter here at Jarvis is more than a club—it’s a community of aspiring professionals who are committed to excellence,” Vladimir said. “As president, I wanted to create a space where students can grow, gain exposure to the accounting field, and be empowered to pursue internships, certifications, and leadership roles.”
The chapter advisor, Mr. Chestley Talley, Director of Career Services at JCU, praised Vladimir’s dedication and vision. “Vladimir is a standout student whose work ethic and character reflect the mission of Jarvis Christian University. He leads with integrity, collaborates with his peers, and shows great initiative in preparing himself and others for success in the business world,” said Talley.
Vladimir’s TXCPA scholarship is a testament to the impact of his hard work and his potential in the field of accounting. The Texas Society of CPAs awards scholarships to high-performing accounting students across the state who show promise of becoming future Certified Public Accountants (CPAs). Recipients are selected based on academic merit, leadership ability, and commitment to the accounting profession.
In addition to his leadership roles, Vladimir has maintained a high GPA and completed several internships that have enhanced his practical understanding of accounting principles. He is currently preparing for the CPA exam and plans to pursue graduate studies in accounting or finance after graduation.
“My goal is to become a CPA and use my skills to make a positive impact, whether that’s in corporate finance, public accounting, or through my own firm,” Vladimir shared. “Jarvis has given me a solid foundation, and I’m grateful for the professors and mentors who have invested in my journey.”
As Vladimir prepares to graduate in Spring 2026, his story is a powerful reminder of what happens when opportunity meets discipline and leadership. His journey exemplifies the mission of Jarvis Christian University: to educate, inspire, and empower students to achieve excellence in leadership, service, and the pursuit of purpose.
