Jarvis Christian University Names Monique Sneed Director of Human Resources
HAWKINS, Texas — Jarvis Christian University is pleased to announce the appointment of Monique Sneed, SPHR, PHR, as the university’s new Director of Human Resources, bringing more than two decades of strategic human resources leadership across higher education, healthcare, manufacturing, and corporate operations.
A seasoned human resources executive, Sneed has built a distinguished career leading organizational transformation, talent management, employee relations, compliance, and workforce development. She joins Jarvis after serving as Senior Human Resources Manager for Medtronic, Inc., where she provided strategic human resources leadership for North American distribution and operational sites, overseeing talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee relations, compensation, benefits, payroll, and organizational effectiveness. Throughout her career, she has earned a reputation as a trusted advisor who builds strong workplace cultures while aligning people strategies with organizational goals.

Sneed also brings valuable higher education experience, having previously served as Director of Human Resources at Mississippi Valley State University, where she led all human resources functions for the institution. During her tenure, she implemented modern recruitment and retention strategies that reduced employee attrition, secured more than $100,000 in workforce training reimbursements, modernized HR and payroll systems, strengthened employee benefits, and enhanced compliance through the implementation of electronic employment verification processes.
Before entering higher education, Sneed held progressive human resources leadership positions with Hillenbrand Industries and also served in leadership roles with Delta Health Center and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission. Her experience spans employee engagement, labor and employment law, organizational restructuring, continuous quality improvement, workplace safety, and leadership development.

Sneed holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Public Administration from Tougaloo College. She is both a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management. She previously served as president of the Mississippi chapter of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR).
As Director of Human Resources, Sneed will provide strategic leadership for talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, professional development, and organizational effectiveness. Her appointment reflects Jarvis Christian University’s continued commitment to investing in its people and fostering a workplace where employees are empowered to advance the university’s mission of educating the head, the heart, and the hand.
