NPHC Donates to Food Pantry

East Texas National Pan-Hellenic Council Donates Supplies to JCU Bulldog Pantry

Jarvis Christian University recently received a generous donation from the East Texas Chapter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), whose members came together to support students by providing essential food and hygiene supplies to the JCU Bulldog Pantry.

Representatives from the NPHC visited campus to deliver the items and share in fellowship with students and university staff. The donation included a variety of nonperishable food products along with personal care items such as toiletries—resources that play an important role in supporting students’ daily needs and overall well-being.

The Bulldog Pantry serves as a vital resource for Jarvis students, ensuring that those facing food insecurity or unexpected financial challenges have access to basic necessities. Through partnerships with community organizations, alumni, and donors, the pantry helps remove barriers that can impact student success and persistence.

University leaders expressed gratitude for the East Texas NPHC’s commitment to service and their investment in Jarvis students. The visit highlighted the long-standing connection between historically Black colleges and universities and the organizations of the Divine Nine, whose traditions emphasize scholarship, service, leadership, and community uplift.

Members of the East Texas NPHC noted that their donation reflects a shared mission to support education and ensure that students have the resources needed to thrive. By contributing to the Bulldog Pantry, the organization is helping to strengthen the university’s efforts to create a supportive campus environment where students can focus on their studies and personal development.

The event also provided an opportunity for fellowship and engagement between students and community leaders. NPHC representatives joined members of the Jarvis community for lunch, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and shared purpose in serving students and strengthening institutions.

Jarvis Christian University leaders emphasized that gifts like this demonstrate how partnerships between community organizations and the university directly impact student life. Access to reliable food and basic necessities contributes to students’ academic success, mental well-being, and sense of belonging on campus.

The university continues to welcome support for the Bulldog Pantry as part of its broader commitment to student care and holistic development. Donations from organizations such as the East Texas National Pan-Hellenic Council reflect the powerful role that community partnerships play in helping Jarvis fulfill its mission.

As Jarvis Christian University works to ensure that every student has the support needed to succeed, the university expresses its sincere appreciation to the East Texas NPHC for their generosity, service, and dedication to uplifting the next generation of leaders.
