Observance of MLK Day

Jarvis Christian University Observes Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Jarvis Christian University will be closed in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, as the campus community joins the nation in honoring the life, legacy, and enduring impact of one of America’s most influential leaders.

Dr. King’s commitment to justice, equality, service, and faith continues to inspire the mission of Jarvis Christian University and its work to prepare students for lives of leadership and service. His vision of the Beloved Community reminds us that education, civic engagement, and compassion remain essential to building a more just and unified society.

In recognition of this important day, university offices will be closed and regular operations will pause to allow students, faculty, and staff time for reflection, service, and community engagement. Classes and normal business operations will resume on the next scheduled university business day.

Jarvis Christian University encourages members of the campus community to honor Dr. King’s legacy not only through remembrance, but through action—serving others, advocating for justice, and committing ourselves to the values that shaped his life and ministry.
