Jarvis Christian University Kicks Off Annual UNCF Workplace Giving Campaign During Faculty & Staff Institute
HAWKINS, Texas — Jarvis Christian University officially launched its annual Jarvis Drive UNCF Workplace Giving Campaign during the University’s Faculty & Staff Institute, reaffirming its commitment to expanding educational opportunity through collective philanthropy and support for the United Negro College Fund (UNCF).
Faculty and staff gathered for a special UNCF Luncheon that celebrated the University’s longstanding partnership with UNCF while emphasizing the important role employee giving plays in supporting students and strengthening historically Black colleges and universities.
The luncheon served as the official kickoff of this year’s workplace giving campaign, encouraging faculty and staff to invest in the future of Jarvis students and HBCUs nationwide through charitable contributions. Participants learned about the impact of UNCF scholarships, institutional support, and leadership development initiatives, all of which help students overcome financial barriers and pursue their educational goals.
“Every gift represents an investment in opportunity,” University leaders shared during the program. “When faculty and staff choose to give, they demonstrate a shared commitment to ensuring that current and future students have access to the transformational education that defines the Jarvis experience.”
As a proud UNCF member institution, Jarvis Christian University has long benefited from the organization’s unwavering support of HBCUs. Through scholarships, grants, and strategic initiatives, UNCF continues to provide critical resources that strengthen institutions and empower students to achieve academic and professional success.
The Jarvis Drive Workplace Giving Campaign provides faculty and staff with an opportunity to support that mission through payroll deduction or one-time contributions. Beyond the financial impact, the campaign reflects a culture of generosity and shared responsibility among University employees, demonstrating that philanthropy begins within the campus community.
The luncheon also highlighted the collective influence of employee participation. While gifts of every size make a difference, broad participation sends a powerful message of institutional unity and confidence in the University’s mission. By joining together in support of UNCF, faculty and staff help create opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom.
The annual campaign is one component of Jarvis Christian University’s broader commitment to cultivating a culture of philanthropy across campus. Through intentional engagement, education, and stewardship, the University continues to encourage faculty, staff, alumni, and friends to invest in the next generation of leaders.
As the campaign continues throughout the fall semester, faculty and staff are encouraged to consider participating in a way that is personally meaningful. Every contribution helps advance UNCF’s mission of investing in students while reinforcing Jarvis Christian University’s commitment to educational excellence and student success.
