Description

The purpose of the Unity Prayer Breakfast is to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Dream and those heroes who tirelessly work toward pursuit of that dream through reflection and fellowship. The breakfast hosted annually by an area community leader provides an opportunity for the community to pray together for city government, law enforcement and leadership, to foster unity between the races, and to work toward bringing ethnic healing in and around East Texas. Through the support of area businesses, individuals, nonprofits, and churches, the Unity Prayer Breakfast is free and open to the public. The event is held in January.
